Trauma Society of India is a pioneering initiative to promote knowledge in the fields of orthopedics and traumatology. The society took a giant leap in its endeavors by launching the first ever standard guidelines for orthopedic clinicians in 2014. The guidelines are being published in a series of books titled Guidelines in Fracture Management, compiled by eminent Indian and international clinicians. They illustrate all possible treatment options and latest management techniques that can be used, with special emphasis on the health scenario in the Asia-Pacific region.

Guidelines in Fracture Management-Fractures around the Foot and Ankle covers all aspects of fractures around the ankle and the hind foot region and focuses on standardization of their treatment protocols. It also deals with complex injuries associated with these fractures.

• A comprehensive section on ankle fractures covering every detail of malleolar fractures and the latest update on syndesmotic injuries.
• A section on tibial pilon that covers all aspects of tibial pilon fractures, including the role of external fixators ORIF.
• A dedicated section on hind foot injuries which discusses calcaneus and talus injuries.Fractures of the neck, body and talar process have also been covered separately, complete with their mechanism, complications, and treatment protocols.

Sudhir Babhulkar, MS (Ortho), D (Ortho), DSc (Ortho), PhD (Ortho), FACS, FICS, FICA, FAMS, is Professor Emeritus of Orthopedics at Indira Gandhi Medical College and Mayo General Hospital, Nagpur;and Director, Sushrut Hospital, Research Centre & Post-Graduate Institute of Orthopedics, Nagpur, India. He was the first qualified orthopedic surgeon to start an orthopedic and accident clinic in Nagpur, in the year 1970. Dr Babhulkar Has over 150 publications in national and International journals and over 500 research papers to his credit.

Mandeep S. Dhillon, MD (Ortho), FAMS, FRCS, is a distinguished orthopedic surgeon practicing for the last 40 years. He is the Professor and Head, Department of Orthopedics, PGIMER, Chandigarh, India. He is the current Chairperson of AO Trauma Society India; the President of the Indian Association for Sports Medicine; and the Founder President of the Indian Biological Orthopaedics Society. Dr Dhillon has published more than 300 papers and authored many books.
