AETCOM competencies for Indian Medical Graduates is based on the AETCOM module as defined and refined by the National Medical Commission (NMC) in 2024. This is the first-of-its-kind logbook cum guide that acts as a guide to both teachers and students, aimed at enhancing students’ critical thinking abilities.
This logbook will help maintain a record of activities and provide adequate feedback to the students about their understanding of the subject.
Salient features:
• The logbook encompasses all modules from phase 1 through phase 3, part 2.
• The author provides guidance at the beginning on how to use the logbook, highlighting how both faculty and students can benefit from it.
• The format of the logbook is strictly in alignment with the NMC curriculum, 2024.
• Critical thinking exercises along with discussion in each module have been included.
• Each module includes relevant case discussions that help students correlate the respective aspects with the clinical context, providing a basis for attempting the exercises that follow.
• Feedback and rating columns have been designed for the faculty to use and provide guidance to the students on their progress throughout these modules.
• This logbook will effectively assess the subject matter’s comprehension for enhancing attention, critical thinking, and positive attitude among Indian Medical Graduates.
• In addition to the mentioned competencies, the author has also included modules on LGBTQ+ and use of social media as a medical professional to focus on being a responsible professional.
